PIG Traps Russia – Turkiye Blue Stream PIG Trap CLASS 1500
The PIG Launcher/Receiver was manufactured for the the Turkish part of the Blue Stream Project, which was commissioned in 2003, starts from Samsun and reaches Ankara via Amasya, Çorum, Kırıkkale, and joins the Malkoçlar-Ankara transmission line near Ahiboz. In addition, a branch leaving Çorum Sungurlu reaches Düzce. On the pipeline, there is Çorum compressor station and Durusu main metering station.
The maintenance and cleaning of pipelines are generally based on the use of PIGs (Pipe Inspection Gauge), which allow many different operations to be carried out along the pipeline and do not obstruct the flow of the pipe. These types of operations include cleaning and inspection of the pipeline, their functions include: Pipeline inspection, Pipeline cleaning, Blending, Displacement
It can also be used for product protection/separation.
The process begins with placing the PIG in the PIG barrel. Then the cover/door of the PIG Trap is closed. The PIG launcher is pressurized to allow the PIG to travel along the pipeline and sweep the line. The PIG is taken out of the pipeline from the PIG receiver end.
Robust and reliable PIG launcher and receiver systems require a high-quality production suitable for this operation, and only then can all the requirements of the customer, environmental and industrial standards be met.
